In 2007, a Transfer of Wealth Study funded by Iowa West Foundation explored
the availability of charitable donations in the Pottawattamie County area. The study found that a community foundation, which allows donations to be fully deductible and eligible for tax credits, would provide a new way for area residents to keep wealth here and meet future needs in the community. As a result, the Pottawattamie County Community Foundation (PCCF) was formed.
The Pottawattamie County Community Foundation is a tax-exempt public charity, 501(c)(3), that serves thousands of people who share a common interest in improving the quality of life in Pottawattamie County, Iowa.
