The Iowa West Foundation's grantmaking process strives to be community and customer-focused, accessible, transparent and consistent.

The first step in applying is determining eligibility.  Prospective applicants take a brief eligibility quiz on-line.  The immediate next step is submitting the required pre-application Letter of Inquiry, also on-line.  Foundation staff review Letters of Inquiry to confirm the eligibility of both the applicant and the proposed use of funds, and then notify each prospective applicant, usually within one business day.  By invitation of the Foundation, applicants are then given notice to complete an on-line proposal.
