The Iowa West Foundation, in partnership with the City of Council Bluffs, will kick-off the summer season with Loessfest: three weeks of exciting concerts and community events at the new River’s Edge Park.
Loessfest is slated to become an annual celebration of our community. All events for Loessfest’s inaugural year will take place at the new park in an effort to introduce Council Bluffs and Omaha area residents to this new community resource and to celebrate its opening.
Making its public debut during Loessfest on May 25 is the latest addition to the Iowa West Public Art collection, Rays, by Dan Corson. This eight-minute interactive lighting environment uses the five-acre Great Lawn as a canvas. As a permanent display, it will run on the hour and on the half-hour and will be a “must see” in the metro area.
Loessfest also features an amazing line-up of events, starting with the Beach Boys on May 25. All events are FREE to the public. To see the full schedule, including dates and times, and to find parking information, visit www.loessfest.com
